3rd Place CSC Design Competition

Group Project

The motive and idea behind designing a food hall was to create a communal space for people to gather and connect. eating and cooking are historically known as activities that bring people and cultures together and act as a common denominator where we often experience differences. Our goal with this space is to invite and connect the residents of The Junction to gather in the space of 1655 Dupont Through diverse culinary stations and an extensive amount of communal seating. The industrial aesthetic allows for each guest to experience a space that feels both authentic and urban. Our intention in “the Mess Hall” is to create a dining space that encourages each person that enters to stay for a while and connect.
